Eligibility for the Role

This role is only open to current members of staff working within Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for data flows internally and externally to the Service, converting the data received to required formats for use within the Service.

You will also be responsible for undertaking the quality assurance processes required to ensure the integrity and validity of data from the Service's Incident Reporting System (IRS). The role also requires liaising with the Information Governance and Compliance Manager in making decisions on disclosure of information.

Due to this being a fixed-term contract, you should already have experience managing an Incident Recording System (IRS) within the fire sector. You will also be required to have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with people from all levels of the organisation and externally.

The role will also involve interrogating data, as such, you will need to be analytical, numerate and able to problem solve effectively.

Driving Instructor

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing instruction on all aspects of LGV and emergency response driver training. You will also identify skill shortfalls and resolve training needs.

Essential requirements include qualifications of a Large Goods Vehicle Licence holder - Category C with a minimum of 3 years' experience, Driving Standards Agency LGV Instructor and or ADI certificate, and a Train the Trainer qualification.

Desirable requirements would be an Approved Driving Instructor (car), an Emergency Response Driver Instructor qualification, Fork Lift Truck Instructor, Off Road Driving qualification and a First Aid at Work certificate. Training would be available if these qualifications are not held.

You must be flexible in your approach to working hours and be able to demonstrate good communication skills.

  • Competent firefighters who have successfully completed a wholetime firefighter's course
Salary will be in line with national pay scales at time of advert.

Eligibility for the Role

This role is only open to current members of staff working within Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

We are looking for an experienced and talented individual to work with us on this exciting proposal, where our partnership work under the Primary Authority Scheme will be brought together with this new role. The post is subject to Support Services terms and conditions.

The Built Environment changes rapidly in terms of complexity and design. We are looking to provide specialist, fire related information across the built environment, applying scientific and engineering principles (codes) and expert judgement, based on an understanding of the phenomena and effects of fire, the reaction and behaviour of people to fire, to protect people, property and the environment from the destructive effects of fire.

Ideally you will be qualified to L5 Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Engineering) however if not already qualified, applications will be considered from candidates that possess the Level 4 Diploma in fire safety (Fire Inspector) and can demonstrate continuous professional development in Fire Safety. Candidates will be required to attend a number of specialist technical courses, some of which may be remote from their base location.

You will lead on the management of the Primary Authority Scheme for the Service and its partners and will develop and assure excellence in the carrying out of Service activities, relating to the delivery of Primary Authority Partnerships
